The Cubs stretched their post-season losing streak to 9 and coughed up the NLDS to the Dodgers. ?For those of you who haven’t been paying attention to the Cubs for the last 100 years, here’s a run down of their October futility:

With the temperature in the thirties, the Rockies hope to refind their hot streak and Boston is hoping those Red Sox come with battery powered heaters.
To all you ice-cold Rockies fans, from a warm and cozy Cardinals fan who’s jealous as can be: This Bud Coors is for you.
UPDATE: The Rockies lost 10-5 to fall to behind three games to none. Let’s hope they can build a fire of their own tonight otherwise it’s, “Wait ’til next year.”

Even though Joe managed to pull the Yankees back into the battle and get them into the play-offs, it wasn’t enough, he’s gone. And this cartoon, originally published back in June has proved prescient. After 12 straight playoff appearances and four World Championships, the Torre era in NYC is over.
